Mt Buller - Victoria
Mt. Buller is only a comfortable short three hour, 248 kilometers north east drive of Melbourne along the Hume Highway or Maroondah Highway,
it is picturesque drive with great scenery. If a comparison was warranted, Mt Buller is Victoria's equivalent to NSW's Thredbo.
Mt Buller offers three well designed terrain parks with something to appeal to all levels of ability. There is a half pipe and an ultra cross course, there are
twenty five lifts that service 80 km of groomed runs on the 300 hectares of ski fields and are able to carry over 40,000 people an hour.
Mt Buller is the great all-round winter resort and is suitable for all levels of skiing. The slopes of Bourke St and Burnt Hut Spur are great for beginner's,
Intermediates will enjoy the wide blue runs off the Emirates Discovery chair lift, and Little Buller Spur and Wombat are still favorites. Aadvanced skiers should
consider Federation as it is Mt Buller's signature advanced run and the Wombat Bowl's Outer Edge is fantastic. The Village Run is fun and the north-side black run,
is picture quality skiing through the gum trees.
Snowboarders are not forgotten, Shakey Knees and Tirol are great! Cross country skiers are catered for, from the gate entry, (includes entry to Mt Stirling) is set up
to open up access to that mountain. There is also other fun things to do visit the cinema, gym, the spa retreat can be fun. Mt Buller will not disappoint!

Mt Hotham - Victoria
Mt. Hotham is a self contained village on top of the mountain and boasts a childcare centre, supermarkets, other shopping options and all
the amenities you would could find in a modern ski resort. Mt. Hotham is considered to be the serious skier's resort!
The drive time from Melbourne is five hours and about nine hours from Sydney. What also great is Mt Hotham has a airport with direct flights operating from Sydney and
Melbourne, giving it access to Australians and overseas visitors alike.
The Hotham ski fields are a little smaller, at 320 hectares, however don't let that keep you away there are 85 marked runs of true powder snow and the great fall line
skiing has more than enough to challenge the advanced skier. It is a place for the serious skier, but beginners are not left you are able to go straight to Big D,
an area set aside and designed for all the first-timers. The trails a ablaze on Wednesdays and Saturdays nights with the night skiing.
Intermediates head to the Summit to try out The Orchard and the more advanced skiers will find the Extreme Zone and One Tree Hill a thrill.
Mt Hotham also has a snow or lift guarantee, that is to say they offer a minimum of three to operate including one lift that services one of the intermediate trails.
Hotham village has much to offer too, there are a number of restaurants, bars, nightclubs and great accommodation to suit most budgets. Hotham is a first class
resort and facilities are second to none.

Falls Creek - Victoria
Falls Creek offers it all regardless to your preference is skiing, snow boarding or just mucking about. You will have a good time at
Falls Creek. Falls Creek is a resort where everyone can have fun.
Travelling in from Melbourne will take you about four hours and about nine hours from Sydney. There are 92 runs at Fall Creek nearly all are for intermediates and
there are also excellent terrain parks and a superpipe. The longest advanced run is Wishing well just on 3 kilometers and the longest beginner run is Wombats Ramble
is just over 2 kilometers. Cross country skiing, there are 21 trails covering 65 kilometers, the longest being The rocky Valley dam loop 21k
This is worth while; Falls Creek has introduced a week long program designed specifically for the newbie's (beginners). Check it out on there website we believe it
comes with video analysis, a souvenir group photograph and certificate.
Beginners should make there way to Drovers Dream and children, the Fox Trail terrain park where you will find small jumps for them to express themselves. Just
getting going or for the intermediates skiers, Sun Valley and the Towers chairlift. You might also try the Scott and Ruined Castle chairs, Oest Wand has a nice
testing pitch for intermediates and above.
Advanced more experienced skiers and snowboarder try The Maze it is fun skiing through the trees, Village Bowl and Mt McKay are good. Cabbage Patch has good steeps.
Shadow Ridge is a hidden gem off the Scott chair. Freeriders look to Terrain parks near the Ruined Castle chairlift.
Falls Creek is a major tourist destination and one of the most popular winter spots to visit in Australia and offers a great range of activities and attractions.
Just remember Falls Creek is a car free village. You will have a great snow holiday a Falls Creek.

Mt Buffalo - Victoria
Mt Buffalo is located 8 hours from Sydney and 3.5 hours from Melbourne. The only way to describe Mt Buffalo is as a boutique enchanting
winter playground. Mt buffalo is well known and has attracted families and skiers for some 60 years.
Mt Buffalo is smaller and usually does not attract the crowded over some other resorts. The slopes range from gentle, which is suitable for beginners and the newbie's.
There are fun intermediate areas and the advanced skiers are not left out. Cross country is also covered 15kms of trails and snow shoeing take you to some of the very
best lookouts. Because the slops are gentler, those learning to ski or snowboard will find it fun and easy.
Mt Buffalo's has three poma lifts and 2 chairlifts mostly servicing the beginners and intermediate areas. The Cresta Poma and Cresta Valley chairlift for the little
more experienced and advanced skiers and snowboarders and be sure to visit Dingo Dell.

Mt Baw Baw - Victoria
Mt Baw Baw is set in the southern tip of the Great Dividing Range and is surrounded by National Park it is another nice boutique style resort.
It is the closest downhill ski resort to Melbourne being a bit over two and half hours drive and for those coming down from Sydney; you can expect to be on the road a
good twelve hours.
At Mt Baw Baw there is 30 hectors of skiing fields, there are seven lifts and sixteen runs, plus there are ten kilometers of marked trails that will suit every level
of cross country skier. It is also an excellent place for beginners with trails close to the village providing the newbie the right introduction to cross country skiing.
What's nice about skiing at Mt Baw Baw is wherever you ski you will be a part of the spectacular scenery and the wonderful views over the LaTrobe Valley all the
way to Western Port Bay and Bass Strait.
Advanced skiers should look to the five kilometer trail. Experienced and advanced skiers take advantage of the beautiful Baw Baw plateau, Mt St. Gwinear,
Mt St. Phillack, Mustering Flat and the Alpine Walking Track. There are maps showing you all the trails to help you along.
Snowboarders are not left out, check out the hot spots, Mt Baw Baw, the Jeep track and it's natural half pipe, there is a wonderful carving terrain and numbers
of tree lined natural obstacles, specially prepared jumps and tubing is fun, all this is waiting to be explored.

Lake Mountain - Victoria
Lake Mountain Alpine Resort is under two hours from Melbourne, about 120 kilometres drive and is situated on the great Lake Mountain plateau.
This is a fantastic, beautiful alpine environment with trails that wind through snow gum woodlands. The resort and known as Australia's best Cross-Country skiing area.
There are over 37 kilometres of trails and numerous toboggan runs. It is a top destination for the newbie's. The resort is well known for its excellent ski school and
